   The Will of Mitchell Barber, Onslow County, NC 1766

In the name of God  amen  I, Mitchol Barbor of Onslow County planter being 
sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God do make 
this my last will and testament that is to say Chief of all I commend my soul 
to the mercy of God my maker thro the merrits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer and 
my body to the grave and as for my worldly goods I dispose of them as 
followoth after my (debts are) paid. (Document worn away in edges of fold).
     Item: I give and bequeath to Susanna  Barbor my well beloved wife all my 
lands and moveables during her life and at her decease to be divided as 
folowoth
     Item: I give and bequeath to my son John Barbor all the land on the side 
of the branch dwelling house stands upon and one half of the moveables at his 
mothers decease.
     Item: I give and bequeath to Michol Barbor my son all the land on the 
south side of branch and half the moveables at the decease of his mother.
     Further I constitute and apoint Richard Morton and Joseph Morton Extrs. 
of this my will revoking all former or other wills by me at any time before 
made and declaring this only to be my last will and testament in (___________) 
I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 14th Day of January 1766.

Additional Comments:
This was Mitchell Barber, Senior. He was the brother of Richard Barber and 
father of Mitchell Barber, Jr. and John Barber. The name is also spelled
Barbour by some branches of the family
