Chattel Mortgage To B.M. Henderson 1886

I Anthony Freeman of the County of Onslow in the State of North Carolina, am
indebted to B.M. Henderson of Onslow County in Said State in the sum of
Seventy five Dollars, for which he holds my note, to be due the first day of
November A.D. 1886, but if he pay me one half of the above amount on the
first day of Nov. 1886 and interest on the whole, then I am to wait twelve
month longer for the ballance and to secure the payment of the Same I do
hereby convey to him these articles of personal property to wit: One bay
mule, blind in left eye, and my entire crop to be raised on Geo. Barber
land, also John Freeman crop to be raised on the land where Anthony Freeman
lives.  But on this Special Trust.  If I fail to pay daid debt and interest
on or before The first day of November A.D. 1886, then he may sell said
property, or so much thereof as may be necesary by public aution, for cash,
first given twenty day's notice of the public place and apply the proceeds
of such Sale to the discharge of said debt and interest on the same, and pay
any surplus to me.

    Given under my hand and seal this the 24th day of February, A.D.1886

State of North Carolina, Onslow County, The due execution of the within
insrtument  is this 24th day of Feb, 1886 proved before the undersigned by
the oath and examination of C.C. Morton.  Let same with all certificates be
registered.
