LINZIE RAY WARD 

BAKERSVILLE - Linzie Ray Ward, 83, of Cane Creek Road, died Monday, March 12, 
2007 at Brian Center Healthcare. He was the son of the late Joe and Esta 
Buchanan Ward, and husband of the late Rexie Wilson Ward. He was a member of 
Cane Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Jones of Swannanoa, and Lois Vance 
of Rutherfordton; two sons, David Ray Ward and Dean Ward, both of Bakersville; 
two sisters, Una Burleson of Marion, and Barbara Hylemon of Spruce Pine; eight 
grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cane Creek Baptist Church. 
Lonnie McClellan officiated. Burial followed in Cane Creek Cemetery. The 
family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home 
in Bakersville. Memorial donations may be made to Cane Creek Baptist Church 
Mission Fund, c/o Pam Snyder, 4513 Cane Creek Road, Bakersville, NC 28705.
