J.C. STANBERY 
 
BOONE - J.C. Stanbery, 85, of Ridge Road, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006. He was 
the son of the late Lloyd and Josie Ray Stanbery. He was also preceded in 
death by a son, Doug Stanbery; and a brother, Harold Stanbery. He was a 
retired farmer and vice-president of Ridge Road Wood Products. He was a U.S. 
Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of Bethelview United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Henline Stanbery of the home; one daughter, 
JoAnn Townsend of Boone; two sons, Larry and Scott Stanbery, both of Boone; 
one sister, Alta Wilson of Clemmons; one brother, Blaine Stanbery of Boone; 12 
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethelview United Methodist 
Church. The Revs. John Jackson and Allen Marsh officiated. Burial followed in 
the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at 
Hampton Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to Bethelview United 
Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Libby Ragan, 2940 North Pine Run Road, 
Boone, NC 28607.
