HARRY MIKE MCCALL, SR.

SPRUCE PINE – Harry Mike McCall, Sr., 94, of Dr. Howell Road, died Friday, 
November 16, 2001, in the Yancey Nursing Center, after a brief illness. A 
native of Georgia, he was the son of the late Frederick and Sarah Kennedy 
McCall. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard C. McCall.
Survivors include his wife, Berta Lee Harris McCall of Spruce Pine; two sons, 
Harry McCall, Jr. of Spruce Pine, and William L. McCall of Pompano Beach, FL; 
a daughter, Joanna Fillingame of Pilot Mountain; sisters, Aleene Browning, 
Martha Wagner and Mary Wilson, all of Newton; nine grandchildren; and 18 great
grandchildren.  A memorial service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First
Baptist Church in Spruce Pine. Rev. David Vess officiated. Webb Funeral Home 
in Spruce Pine was in charge of arrangements.
