She was the daughter of the late Jess Hill and Dora Clark Hill Burleson of Bakersville, and wife of the late Edward Junior English. She was an inspector at Modern Globe Manufacturing, and member of Odoms Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepfather, Homer Burleson; two daughters, Mitzi Burleson and Vicki Thomas, both of Buladean; three sons, Eddie English and Ricky English, both of Buladean, and Randy English of Roan Mountain, TN; one sister, Mattie Street of Buladean; two brothers, Nattie Hill of Buladean, and J.D. Hill of Johnson City, TN; two stepsisters, Linda Gouge and Betty Banks, both of Bakersville; two stepbrothers Dallas Burleson and Homer Ray Burleson, both of Bakersville; 12 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Odoms Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Revs. Donald Whitson and Rick Pate officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Garland Cemetery. The family received friends at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was in charge of arrangements.
