Last Will and Testament of Penelipe Canady 

I Penelipe (sic) Canady of the County of Greene and State of North 
Carolina being of sound mind and memory; but considering the 
uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this to be 
my last will and testament in namer and form as follows.

1st
That my executor shall provide for my body a decent burial and pay 
all just debts if any.

2nd
I want a walling put around the graves of myself and husband Henry 
Canady and head and foot pieces put to our graves in marble.

3rd
I give to each of my lawful heirs one dollar apiece.

4th
I give to Pennina Mewborn my niece one bed and furniture.

5th
I give to Benjamin W. Warters and Dealia F. Warters my nephew and 
niece all o the rest of my property both real and personal.  I leave 
J. R. Warters as my executor to execute this my Last Will and 
Testament.  I hereunto set my hand this August the 25th 1876.

A paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Penelipe Canady, 
deceased, is exhibited before me the undersigned, Judge of Probate for 
said County by __ M. R___ and the due execution thereof by the said 
Penilipe Canady by the Oath and examination of C. Patrick and John 
Grizzard the said being witnesses thereto who being duly sworn doth 
depose and say each for himself deposeth and saith that he is a 
subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown therein purporting 
to be the Last Will and Testament of Penelipe Canady that the said 
Penelipe Canady in the presence of this deponant subscribed her ______ 
[illegible].
