Craven County, NC - Lewis Williams to John A. Brice, 1763 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Craven County Register of Deeds TO ALL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE to whom these presents shall come, I, Lewis Williams of the County of Onslow and Province of North Carolina, Planter, Know Ye, that I, the said Lewis Williams, for divers good causes and consideration me hereunto moving have granted, surrendered, demised, released and forever quit-claimed, and by these presents do for me, my heirs, executors and administrators grant, surrender, demise, release and forever quit-claim unto John A. Brice, of the County of Craven and Province aforesaid, and to his heirs and assigns, Planter, forever, all that tract or parcel of ground, with the appurtenances, and being on Brice's Creek in the County and Province aforesaid, from Hallstain Branch on the said creek to Rigdon Brice's line, and bounded by the said creek, for the complement of 170 acres, it being the lnad formerly belonging to the said A. Brice, and was by his conveyed to the said Williams, by deed of sale which deed hath been mislaid in the Clerk's Office of the abovesaid County Court, without being Registered, and now not to be found and also all my estate, right, title and interest, use, possession, reversion, property, claim, benefits and whatsoever in and to the same TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said tract or parcel of land, and all other the premises before hereby mentioned to be granted and released and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said John A. Brice, his heirs and assigns forever, the sole and only proper use and behoof of the said John A. Brice, his executors and assigns forever. I, the said Lewis Williams, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, do covenant and promise and grant to and with the said John A. Brice, his heirs, executors and every of them by these presents, that the said John A. Brice, his heirs and assigns may from time to time and all times forever hereafter, lawfully, peaceably and quietly have, hold, occupy, possess and enjoy all the said tract or parcel of land and premises hereby mentioned to be granted and released and receive the rents, issues and profits thereof, to his and their own use, without any lawful let, suit or interruption whatsoever for or by me, the said Lewis Williams, my heirs, executors, administrators or for or by any other person or persons whatsoever lawfuly claiming or to claim by from or under me, the said Lewis Williams, or by my means, estate, default, neglect or procurement IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 20th day of May, 1762 Signed, sealed and delivered Lewis Williams {Seal} in the presence of Chas.
