Below is an obituary I transcribed from the Raleigh
News & Observer.  The deceased was a resident of
Chocowinity, NC.

Obituary: Joseph O. MOORE, 1954, Beaufort County, NC
Surnames: MOORE, JONES, ROWLS, LANDRUM

Washington, NC - Joseph Ottis MOORE, 48, resident of
Chocowinity, died in Western North Carolina Sanitorium
at Black Mountain Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock
following a hemorrhage.  He was born in Chocowinity
Community of Beaufort County son of the late D. Oscar
and Mattie JONES MOORE, and a member of the
Chocowinity Missionary Baptist Church.  Surviving are
two brothers, Roland F. MOORE of Chocowinity and Hugh
Brown MOORE of Engelhard; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Mae
ROWLS of Chocowinity, and Mrs. Louise LANDRUM of
Birmingham, Ala.  Funeral services will be held at the
Chocowinity Missionary Baptist Church Monday morning
at 11 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. John
SMITH.  Burial will follow in Trinity cemetery [end of
