In the name of God Amen the fifteenth Day of may in ye yeare of our Lord God 1739. I Francis Delamar of the County of Bath in bare river planter being sick & week of bodey but of perfect mind and memory thanks there fore be rendred unto God Calling to mind the mortality of my bodey and knowing it is appointed for all persons once to Dye I doe make and ordaine this my Last will & testament that is to say principally and first of all give and Recommend my Soul in to the hands of God that gave it and for my bodey I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Cristan like manner at the discretion of my Executrix as heare after named – noting doubting but that at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching suck worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I give Demize and bequeath in manner and form following I leve to my loving wife Susanah her choice of my two plantations to keep as her own during her life & after hir decese I give and bequeath to my soon Frances my dwelling house & plantation where one I now live with all the Land belongin there unto to him and his heirs for ever I give & bequeath to my soon Thomas that plantation that lies one the south side of brood? Crick as I bought of John Forbush with all the Land belonging to it to him & his heirs for ever. I Leve to my Loving wife Susanah all my moveable Estate to make use of as Long as hir name is Susanah Delamar & after hir name is changed I will that it shall be equally divided between hir & all my children – And I doe heare by make ordain Constitute and appoint my Loving wife Susanah my hole and sole Executrix of this my Last will and testament heare by revoking and disannulling all former wills and bequeath by me made and Declaring this only to be my Last Will and testament In witness wheare of I have heare unto set my hand & seele the day & yeare first above mentioned.
