Phillips , 46 of Winnett, died early Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Phillips was born January 31. 1923 at Ladysmith, WI, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs Louis Jurgens. She received her education in Wisconsin and in 1940 moved to Indiana where she spent a year working in a hospital. In 1941 she moved to Tacoma, WA, where she continued her hospital work. On October 12, 1943 she was married to Eldon Phillips at Tacoma. After her marriage, she moved to Winnett and had lived there until the time of her death. Mrs Phillips was member of the First Lutheran Church of Winnett. She is survived by her husband, Eldon, Winnett, four daughters, Mrs. Janet Bauer of Winnett, Mrs Nancy Danielson of Standford and Judy and Sandy Phillips of the family home; two sons, John and David, both of Winnett; eight brothers Walter Jurgens of Algonquin, Ill, Martin of Lacy, WA, Karl of Kent, WA, Ernest of Olympia, WA, Adolph of Auburn, WA, Paul of Demming of NM, Harold of Sumner, WA and Louis of Ladysmith, WI., two sisters Mrs. Minnie Chamberlain and Marie Baughman both of Long Beach, CA and eight Grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by one son Larry and three brothers. Funeral services for Mrs Clara Phillips will be Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Winnett High School Gymnasium with Rev. Joel Frank of the First Lutheran Church of Winnett officiating. Interment will follow in the Winnett Cemetery. Cloyd funeral home is in charge of the arrangements. Lewistown Daily News 2-4-1997 SERVICES SET FRIDAY FOR CORA I. PHILLIPS Cora I Phillips, 80. Lewistown, died this morning at her home in Lewistown after a short illness. Funeral Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Creel-Morrison-Retz chapel with Rev. George Barnhart officiating. Interment will follow in the City Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips was born Sept. 26, 1896 in Rushville, NE, the daughter of frank and Emma Geary. She received her schooling in Pine Grove and Lavina. She came to the Flatwillow area as a child with her parents. On March 7, 1916, she married R. J. Phillips in Lewistown. Following her marriage, they homesteaded in the South Moccasin Mountain in 1916. They farmed and ranched there until they retired in 1968 and moved into Lewistown. Mrs Phillips was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Past Matrons, Republican Women’s Club, Lewistown Woman’s Club and United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia I Blakemore, Bakersfield, CA, Mrs. Mary Criswell, Lewistown, Mrs. Katherine Conrad, Crestline, CA, two sons Samuel K., and Robert K., both of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. John Rekdal, Powell, Wyoming.
