ILL Death Notice
John W. Pendarvis 66, of 2426 Adams St. Granite City, IL died at noon 
Wednesday, d Apr 10, 1963 at St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was a patient for 
a week. He had suffered a heart attack. Mr. Pendarvis was retired and had been 
a carpenter after his retirement. 

He was born John William Pendarvis b Apr 4, 1897 MS in Escatawpa, Jackson 
County, MS and lived in Granite City, IL for nine years. He was a member of the 
Central Christian Church. He is survived by his wife Leona (Jacobs) Pendarvis 
(MS), a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Parker, Granite City, IL. 

A brother, G. G. Pendarvis of Portland, OR; five sisters Mrs. Connie (Neil D.) 
Schafer, Groton, CN; Minnie Pendarvis, Hartford, CN; Mrs. Ann (Ernest) Helm, 
Bayou Rouge, LA; and Mrs. Gladys (William) Broadus, Prentiss, MS and Mrs. 
Phillie (Roy Francis) Shafer. 

Preceding in death by: His parents Joseph James Pendarvis of Escatawpa, Jackson 
Co., MS. and Mary "Molly" Jones Pendarvis. Two Brothers: Joseph Pendarvis and 
Allen Pendarvis; sister: Mrs. Clarisa (Loma) Thigpen.
