Biographical Sketch of W. H. H. Scott, an extensive farmer and stock raiser of Platte Township, Adnrew County, MO., was born in Marion County, KY., January 17, 1841. He is the son of George and Rachel (Miller) Scott, both natives of Kentucky; the former was the son of Richard Scott, and was born in 1801; the latter was born in 1808, and now resides in Missouri. W. H. was reared on the farm, and received a liberal education in the country schools of Kentucky and Missouri. He had no capital to begin with, but has been successful in his vocation, and is now a prosperous man, owning 280 acres of fertile land. He has never aspired to public office, but is a friend and an aid to churches, schools and public improvements and enterprises. In April, 1870, he wedded Emma Powell, daughter of Milton Powell, of Andrew County, MO.
