The Ionia Sentinel, March 4, 1885

Died Friday morning, Feb. 27, at the family residence in the town of Ronald, 
Mr. John Jennings, aged seventy-six years and four months.  He settled in this 
county in the spring of 1843, settling in the town of what was then called 
Lyons, afterwards set off from that town and known as North Plains.

Thirty-two years ago moved into the town of Ronald on the farm where he died, 
beloved by his neighbors and friends.  He leaves a wife and two children to 
mourn his loss, Mrs. WM. Sessions of this city and Lemuel B. of Ronald.  
Funeral from the residence Sunday at 1 o’clock p.m.
