Ionia Daily Sentinel, 29 Apr 1914

The remains of Edward Wykes were brought to Ionia at noon today from Detroit, for 
burial in Oak Hill cemetery.  The deceased was an uncle of Miss Martha Knight of 
this city and is survived by his wife, also a daughter, Mrs. J. J. Bailey, both 
of whom accompanied the remains here.  Mr. Wykes died in Detroit last Saturday at 
the age of 73 years.  He was for several years station agent at the local Grand 
Trunk station.  The remains were taken direct to Oak Hill, where a brief service 
of prayer was given by Rev. A. R. Mitchell, rector of St. John’s Episcopal church.
