VanDyne, 57, of 351 Higbee, died Tuesday morning at Ionia County memorial hospital following a short illness. He was born April 29, 1921 in Warnock, Ohio, the son of Rex and Marian VanDyne. Mr. VanDyne moved to Lyons in 1927 and had lived there since that time. He served with the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Lyons village council for 20 years. He attended Lyons high school and was a foreman at General Tire. He married the former Laura Rogers in May, 1947. Survivors include his wife; one son, Richard of Lyons; two daughters, Janet VanDyne of Muir and Brenda VanDyne of Lyons; one sister Mrs. Evelyn Erridge of Portland and four grandchildren. Services are Friday at 2 p.m. from the Hull Memorial chapel with Rev. Mark Matter of Lyons United Methodist church officiating. Burial is in Lyons cemetery. A memorial fund is established for the Lyons Community park.
