Mrs. Towner’s maiden name was Ellen Knight. She was 66 years of age and was married to “Uncle” William Towner, of Danby, 43 years ago. The couple had been residents of the village for the past five years, owning and occupying the house on Smith street known as the Frank Mowers property. Mr. Towner died November 5th, his wife surviving him only a trifle more than a month. Rev. Wm. W. Slee, of the M.E. church, officiated at the funeral services, which were held at the late residence Monday morning at 10:00. The remains were interred beside those of the husband in Danby township cemetery.
