Ionia Sentinel Standard, 25 Mar 2005

Sidney Towersey Jr., aged 79 of Ionia, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2005.  
He was born April 4, 1925 in Alma to Sidney B. Towersey and Maggie (Sanders) 
Towersey.

He is survived by two sisters Shelby J. Towersey of Ionia and Gertrude Mae and 
Harvey Heppe of Orleans; one brother James and Helen Towersey of Orleans, five 
nephews and seven nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, six 
brothers and sisters.

Mr. Towersey has been a lifelong resident of the Ionia area.

At the request of the family, there will not be any visitation held.  Memorial 
services will be Monday, March 28, at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Community Church, 
Orleans, with pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.  In accordance with Mr. 
Towersey’s wishes, cremation has already taken place.  The family suggests 
memorial considerations to the charity of one’s choice.  The family is being 
served by the Simpson Family Funeral Home, Sheridan.
