Stoakes, of Detroit in a Detroit hospital Thursday evening. Employed as a bookkeeper for the municipal employment agency, she was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage while at work Thursday afternoon. She was born in Grattan township March 13, 1900, and graduated from Belding high school in 1908. She also was a graduate of MacLachlan Business university in Grand Rapids. June 16, 1922 she married William J. Stoakes, a former Greenville resident in Detroit. Mr. Stoakes resided in Detroit for the past 28 years. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. James of Belding, Mrs. Clarence… (illegible)… and Mrs. Alfred Carahan of Arcadia, Fla.; and one brother, Henry Clemons of Lowell. Funeral services will be held in Detroit Monday at 2:30 p.m. with interment in Detroit. Additional Comments: Note: The obituary states she was born in 1900 and graduated from high school in 1908.
