The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, January 31, 1966

Funeral service for Mrs. Phebe Slabaugh, 88, of rural Alto who died Sunday 
afternoon in a Lowell rest home, will be Tuesday at Pickens funeral chapel in 
Clarksville at 1:30 p.m.  The Rev. Daniel Zook will officiate and interment 
will be at Mennonite cemetery.

Mrs. Slabaugh, daughter of Criss and Elizabeth Good Birkey, was born in 
Illinois, December 17, 1877.  Her husband, Albert, died in 1965.

Mrs. Slabaugh was a member of the Mennonite church of Alto area and is 
survived by one brother.
