Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 Mar 1974

Mrs. Stella M. Risser, 86, formerly of Ionia area, died Friday in Midlothin, 
Ill.

She was born February 29, 1888, in Loda, Ill., the daughter of George and Eliza 
Savage Bogart. She married John N. Risser in 1909.  He died in February, 1940.  
One son, John K., died May 27, 1973.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hogland of Peoria, Ill, and Mrs. Nettie 
Christenson of Holiday, Fla., two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is her niece Mrs. Mary Emelander of Lake Odessa whom Mrs. Risser 
had raised as a child while living in the Ionia area.

Funeral services are to be held Sunday in Illinois.  Graveside services will be 
at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Easton cemetery with the Rev. George Chaffee of Easton 
United Methodist church officiating.  Local arrangements are being made by 
Leddick Funeral Home.
