The Belding Banner, Thursday, March 14, 1912

News was received here Wednesday morning that William Pickering formerly well 
known in this city and for many years an insurance agent in the Sandell bank 
had passed to his last rest.  Afflicted with epileptic fits he become a county 
charge several years ago and his death occurred at the Ionia county poor 
house.  He came to Belding about twenty years ago and built several houses.  
He was married twice, both wives having died here.

His remains were brought here for burial today and laid by the side of his 
late wife by undertaker Ben Friedly.  He leaves one son supposed to be in 
England.
