Lyons Herald, 6 May 1909

Mrs. Dennis O’Neil died at the home of her son Lavalette, near Pewamo, last 
week and was buried in Portland Friday.  She suffered a stroke of paralysis 
some fifteen years ago, from which she only partially recovered.  A few days 
before her death she suffered another stroke.

Deceased was born in Portland township in May, 1844, and was the daughter of 
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Willey.  She passed the last 27 years of her life on the 
farm where she died and was highly respected by the entire neighborhood.  She 
is survived by her son Lavalette and two brothers O.B. and L.B. Willey of Ann 
Arbor and two sisters Mrs. M.R. Probert of Pewamo and Mrs. N.C. Warner of 
Beardstown, Ill.
