Ionia Standard, Thurs., January 9, 1879
Ellis L. Merriam, a son of Almon Merriam Esq., of this city, died at Stanton 
on Thursday morning of last week.  He was employed as a baggage master at the 
Stanton station and was a very estimable young man.  His remains were brought 
to this city, his funeral occurring on Friday from the Disciple church.
