Alberta B. Maddox, 80, of Lyons passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Carson
City Hospital.  She was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Fowlerville, the daughter of
George and Anna Rockhold.  She married George W. Maddox on March 14, 1937.  She
worked at the Chrysler Trim Plant for 10 years and was a nurse at the Sheridan
Community Hospital.  She was more than just our wife and mother.  She was our
best friend.

Mrs. Maddox is survived by George, her husband of 62 years; three sons, Kenneth
(Sherry) Maddox of Six Lakes, Kevin (Amy) Maddox of Lyons and James (Carol)
Maddox of Fowler; two daughters, Bette (George) Barnes of Lyons and Lisa
(Robert) Liman of Hubbardston; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Irene (J.R.) Redinger of Howell.  She
was preceded in death by one grandson, Jack Rogers, and two brothers, Wilda and
Orville Rockhold.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at North Plains Community Church with
Pastor Robert Jourdan officiating.  The organist will be Lisa Miller and
interment will follow in Lyons Cemetery.  Visiting hours are 7 p.m. to 8:30 .m.
tonight at the Rich Street Chapel of Cook Funeral Home, Ionia.  Memorial
contributions may be made to the Carson City Hospital I.C.U. in care of Cook
Funeral Home.
