Howard Lowry, 72, 442 Kent Street, Portland, died at his home Monday.  Mrs. 
Lowry was born in Montcalm County on the shore of Loon Lake, January 18 1883, 
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lowry.  When a small child he was brought to 
Portland where he had spent his entire life.  He was in many businesses, with 
the fire department for many years and belonged to the Odd Fellows.  Funeral 
services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Neller funeral home.  The 
Rev. McCarty will officiate.

Surviving are two children, Leon Lowry of Ionia, Miss Esther Lowry at home; 
one brother, Webster Lowry of Portland; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Keefer of 
Portland and Mrs. Howard Croel of Lyons.

Burial will be in Portland cemetery.  Pallbearers will be nephews.
