Lyons Herald, 6 May 1904

James Lawless died at his home in Lyons on Thursday afternoon, at age of 68 
years.  He was the father of Glenn and Thomas Lawless of South Ionia.  Deceased 
was born in New York state, but was brought to Michigan by his parents when only 
two years of age.  He had been twice married, and was the father of 12 children, 
11 of whom survived him.  Funeral service at the church of SS. Peter & Paul, 
Ionia, at 9 a.m., on Saturday, and interment in Catholic cemetery.
