The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Monday, March 13, 1917
Mrs. Miranda C. Kneeland, aged 82 years, died Sunday afternoon at her home on 
East Washington street.  She had been ill for about six weeks preceding her 
death, although in poor health for several years.  Deceased was born in New 
York state and was an old resident here, being the widow of D. B. Kneeland.  
Funeral services will be held at the residence on Wednesday afternoon at 2 
o’clock.

Miranda C. Charles was born in Weathersfield, N.Y. where she lived until 1844, 
when the family moved to Michigan, residing first in North Plains township.  
She was married in 1853 to Adolphus Kneeland.  One daughter, Kate, was born to 
them who passed away in 1906.  Mr. and Mrs. Kneeland made their home in Ionia 
city for many years, the latter being one of the oldest residents in the 
county.

Mr. Kneeland died years ago and for several years past deceased and her 
sister, Miss Jane Charles, had made their home together on East Washington 
street.  Three brothers are the only other immediate relatives, Wallace of 
Muir, William of North Plains and Albion of Lyons.
