Death ensued at about 11:00 o’clock. Dr. R. W. Alton, who was summoned, pronounced death due to a severe apoplectic stroke. Mr. Ingalls had been at the home of Vet Pryer Tuesday morning and was driving in the direction of his own home when stricken. When he left the Pryer farm he was laughing and joking and appeared to be in the best of sprits. Members of Mr. Ingalls’ family are inclined to believe the man’s death was hastened by the effects of a fall, Mr. Ingalls having been permanently injured in this manner about a year go. On Tuesday evening the remains were removed to the home of Mrs. Harry Kelly, a daughter of deceased, where a short prayer service was conducted at 1:00 o’clock this (Thursday) afternoon. Funeral services were held at the Danby Grange hall an hour later, Rev. J. M. Stewart, of Portland, officiating, and burial was in Danby cemetery. Mr. Ingalls was born in Sebewa township January 21, 1857 but had been a resident of Danby township almost continuously since he was two years of age. Thirty-five years ago he was married to Philla Sowles of Roxand, who survives him. The children are Clarence Ingalls of Rudyard, Montana, Mrs. Charles Underhill of Lansing, Mrs. Harry Kelly of Danby and Miss Marion Ingalls, living at home. Deceased is also survived by an aged mother, Mrs. Lucinda Ingalls of Howell.
