Portland Observer, 12 Nov 1950

Private services were held Monday at the Neller Funeral Home for Mrs. Jessie C.
Hendee, 82, who passed away last Saturday at a convalescent home in Ionia.  Rev.
Lowell J. McCarty officiated at the services.  Burial was in Portland cemetery.
 The deceased was born in Portland on Jan. 1863 the daughter of William H. and
Cornelia White.  For many years she worked in the office of the Fleischman Yeast
Co. in Buffalo, N.Y.

On Nov. 18, 1919 she married Judson O. Hendee. He passed away three weeks after
their marriage.

Survivors are niece, Mrs. E.B. Wolfrom, Lakeland, Fla., and a nephew, Will
Ronsom, Norman, Oklahoma.  Mrs. Mary W. Buck, of Lansing, and Frank White, of
Ionia, are cousins.

Mrs. Hendee was a member of the Congregational church, Eastern Star, and Past
Matrons club.

Bearers were Roy Dawdy, Gerald Crane, Harry High, Robert Olmstead, Peter
Trierweiler, Allen Hughes.
