Joseph Ray Evans, 17, of Lancaster, South Carolina, passed away April 25, 2004 
in Lancaster, South Carolina. He was born on February 5, 1987 in Ionia the son 
of Kenny Evans and Connie (Marotz) Allen.  Joe enjoyed stock car racing, 
basketball and working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, J.R. Evans of Palo.  Surviving 
are his mother, Connie and Don Allen of Palo and father, Kenny and Kandy Evans 
of Palo; brothers, Justin Evans of Palo, Joshua Evans of Stanton, Aaron Evans 
of Palo, Don Allen of Fenwick; sisters, Melinda Evans of Evart, Marian Allen, 
Natasha Allen of Fenwick; grandparents, Norman and Carolyn Tasker of Palo, 
Sandra Evans of Orleans, Arthur Marotz of Evart and Ilene Allen of Fenwick; 
great grandma, Lydia Marotz of Waterford; several nieces and nephews, aunts, 
uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Charles Bellinger, Pastor, at 1 
p.m., Friday, April 30, 2004 at First Baptist Church of Palo, 4455 South St. 
Interment will be in Palo Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-9 p.m., 
Thursday at Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia.  Arrangements 
are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Ionia.
