The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, February 5, 1948
Ora A. Decker, 66, former Ionia grocer, died at his home at 851 West Main 
street Wednesday evening at 7:00 o’clock after a three years illness.  He was 
born on September 7, 1881.  For several years he was in charge of the welfare 
office before it was turned over to the county in the 1930’s.  

Surviving him are his wife, Lura Allen Decker; one son, Max A. Decker, of West 
Branch; one daughter, Mrs. Florian Pung, of Portland and four grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held from the Myers funeral home Saturday afternoon at 
2:00 o’clock, with interment in Clear Lake cemetery.
