The Lake Odessa Wave, February 1973


Mrs. Gertrude B. Bever, 74, of Eagle Point, passed away Saturday night at the 
Provincial House at Hastings where she had been a patient for a year and a 
half.  She was born near Lake Odessa August 14, 1898, the daughter of Freeman 
and Florence (Schooley) Klopfenstein and married Ernest C. Bever of Lake 
Odessa May 25, 1918.  They moved to Lansing in 1927 and returned to the local 
area in 1952.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Eleanor) Bush of 
Brant and Mrs. Kenneth (Geraldine) Slater of Lansing; seven grandchildren and 
great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel at 
Lake Odessa.  Rev. Charles Dunbar officiated with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
