Richard Edwards, an old resident of Calumet, died early yesterday morning at the family residence at 4221 Oak Street, corner of Eleventh, Yellow Jacket, following a week's illness of pneumonia. Mr. Edwards was 60 years of age and came to Calumet 45 years ago from New Jersey. He was an employee of the Calumet & Hecla Mining Company for the past 30 years, being stationary engineer at the Red Jacket shaft for 25 years. Besides his widow he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Joseph Caesar of Calumet, Mrs. Peter Pinten of Hancock, Mrs. Max Lemaux of Pontiac, Howard of Detroit and Eustice at home. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. William Bastian of Calumet, Mrs. Samuel Wilcox of Hancock, Mrs. Harriet Bryant of Laurium, Mrs. Samuel Williams of Hubbell, William of Grass Valley, Cal., Frank of British Columbia, John of Knoxville, Tenn. and Thomas of Hubbell. The late Mr. Edwards was an active member of the Calumet lodge, No. 271 F. & A.M., and the Kinghts of the Macabees.
