He was the father of 15 children, of whom nine are living; Charlie of Johnstown, Pa., Ira, David, Joseph, Anna, Ruby, Carrie, Merl and Zelva, all at home. He had a son who was lost on the Battleship Cyclops. Mr. Arehart came to Michigan from Johnstown, Pa. selling his home there and coming to Gladwin county to get a bigger farm so as to have his children all near him, but he was only here a little over a year before he fell a victim of the dreadful disease, cancer of the stomach. He was the youngest son of 14 children, of whom of only four are living; David of Otter Lake, Burris in Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. R.M. Gregg of Pine Stump and Lizzie Westcott of Ohio. He leaves one niece, Mrs. Emma Bird and one nephew, Frank Crumpacker of Pine Stump. Mr. Arehart was a man of high morals, beloved by all who knew him. Rev. Perry Arnold preached the funeral sermon, and he was laid to rest in the Dale Cemetery. He was taken to his Nephew's home at Pine Stump where the funeral was held at the house. Pall Bearers were W. H. Snyder, Andrew Snyder, Phillip Ottegen, Henry Schaffer, James Dundas, and Wm. Rhodes.
