Dowland, age 87, of Clio, passed away Saturday, Occtober 3, in Gladwin. She was born the daughter of Mark Twain and Susan Belle (Carey) Dunsmore on July ll, 1911 in Mottersville, Michigan. She married Adrian Dowland in 1928 and he preceded her in death in 1959. She moved to Clio from Harrison and was a member of St. Charles and Helena Church in Clio. Myrtle is survived by a son, Adrian of Flint, daughters, Janet and Russell Colter of Gladwin, Susie and Clair Wentworth of Clio, Penny and Kenneth Winchester of Gladwin, and Joanne and Bill Lewis of Lake George, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur, John, Cliff, Levi, Frank, Myron, and Ira; and sisters Lucy Rumzek, Olive Snyder, and Isabell Boulton.
