He was born at Cumberland, Ontario, January 24, 1850, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cameron, and lived there a number of years before going to Sterling, Mich., where he resided for 40 years. He came to Flint from his home at Sterling 16 years ago. He married Anna Johnston at Sterling, June 9, 1897. He was a member of Lodge No. 268, I. O. O. F. Of Sterling. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Archie [Johnston], of Greencourt, Alberta, Canada, and Donald of Flint; five daughters, Mrs. L. D. Carpenter [Ellen Johnston], Mrs. Warren Stout [Blanche Johnston], Mrs Paul Schantz [Marian] and Mrs. Ralph [Beatrice] Powers, all of Flint, and Flora, at home; one sister, Mrs. George Keeney of Sterling; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
