WARD (From the Clinton County Republican-News, St. Johns, MI, Thurs., July 5, 1951 - Front page) Services Monday for Myron Ward Well-Known St. Johns Resident Dies Suddenly Services were held from the First Congregational church in St. Johns at 2 p.m. Monday for Myron E. Ward, 68, former mayor of St. Johns, who died of a heart attack Thursday while playing golf at the Clinton County Country Club. Rev. Emeral Price officiated at the services and interment was in Mt. Rest cemetery. Mr. Ward was well known and respected in this community having served on the city commission and as mayor of the city. He was a past commander of the Knights Templar and was a member of the First Congregational church for 42 years. He had also served as president of the cemetery board, as a member of the library board and the board of review. Mr. Ward was formerly associated with his father-in-law, the late Charles Sprague, in the grain business and at one time was associated with the A.T. Farrell Co. and Chatterton Grain Co. at Saginaw. He was born in Clinton county on August 21, 1882, the son of Alfred and Martha Ward. On June 9, 1906 he was married to Miss Lilly A. Sprague in St. Johns. Surviving besides the widow are a brother, Ralph B.
