McDonald., 2001, Clare, Clare County, Michigan Obituary from the Clare County (MI) Review, August 31, 2001 Daniel A. McDonald, age 93, of Clare, passed away at his home on Wednesday August 29, 2001. He was born the son of Angus and Excena (Palmer) McDonald on September 5, 1907 in Au Gres, Michigan. Dan married Genevieve Bowen on July 3, 1929 in Mt. Clemens, and she preceeded him in death on April 26 of this year. They moved to Clare from Detroit in 1941, where he opened Dan McDonald Ford Sales and Service. He operated the dealership until his retirement. He was very proud of all he had accomplished "on an eighth grade education". He was a member of St. Cecilia Church and the Clare Rotary Club. Dan is survived by his nieces and nephews, Robert Bondage, Susan Bouroughs, Kathy Mallary, Joe, John, Tim, and Danniel Casteel, Linda Steck, Michael McDonald, and Genevieve Susan Baumgarth; and sisters-in-law Pat McDonald and Shirley Franklin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September l, at ll:00 from the St. Cecilia Church with Fr. Joseph Ryan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Cecilia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to MicMichigan Hospice or the St. Cecilia Church. Arrangements were by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Clare. jic
