Short Wave Radio Amateurs Ordered To Stop Operation Three Rigs In Winnfield Silenced By QST Message A WST message Sunday night from the American Radio Relay League, Ins., ordered all communication between amateur short wave radio operators in the United States stopped. The message stated that rigs should not be dismantled, but should be kept in shape for use by local authorities in the event telephone and telegraph connections are disabled. Three rigs in Winnfield have been silenced by the message. They are operated by G. S. Ham, W5JTH; Doc Burnett, W5JJT: and Frank Gill, W5ITS. (NOTE: "Doc" Burnett was David C. Burnett, and he is buried at Friendship Cemetery, near Sikes.)
