He was born on Sunday, April 30, 1922, in Greensboro, N.C. Mr. Vaughn was a member of Carpenters Local 1846, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a past master Mason in the Independence chapter. Surviving are wife Mary Gulotta Vaughn; son and daughter-in-law, Bernie and Susan Vaughn; granddaughter, Denise Vaughn Jarreau; brothers, Jack, Garland Richard and Albert Vaughn; and sister, Mary Frances Cockman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gideon Vaughn and Mary Hendrick Vaughn; and brother, Howard Vaughn.
