Visitation will be today at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Baton Rouge, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Va., died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004. She was a professional church organist and had played for several churches throughout the state as a member of The Louisiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Jocelyn Townsend; two grand- children and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. A. W. Townsend Jr. Visitation will be Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Hammond, from 5 p.m. until the funeral at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be Friday at Memorial Park, St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born on Friday, December 4, 1925, in Terre Haute, Indiana son of the late Virgil and Helen Townsend. Mr. Townsend was a Minor League Baseball Player, World War II Marine Veteran- Pacific Service-, IVU Union Member, Michoud Worker and a retired HSK electrician. He was also an Elks Club Member, life member of the American Legion and VFW. Surviving are his son & daughter-in-law, Larry & Julie Townsend, daughter, Sandra Townsend, 8 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
