He was born Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1930, in Covington County in Opp, Ala., the son of Zoner Short and Ada Ward Short. He worked as a building contractor. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Jones Short; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul B. Sr. and Connie Short and Franklin D. and Dayna Short; son, Henry B. Short and his fiancˇe, Michelle; granddaughter, who was raised as a daughter, Danielle Short, and her fiancˇ, Clint; grandchildren, Brian, Kerri, Corey, Robin and Kristin; sisters, Marie Short Schofield, Gladys Short Cashio, Glenda Short Labatut, Mildred Short Kimball, Cita Short Johnson, Merle Short Freeman, Dale Short Peden, Margaret Short Schabauer and Dianne Short Kondroik; brother, Carroll Short; great-grandchild, Sierra; special sisters-in-law, Betty Howell and Helen Short; and numerous nieces and nephews.
