SAWYER, CARL MERVYN  

PONCHATOULA - Carl Mervyn Sawyer, 74, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at his 
home. He was a native of Eastman, Ga., and a member of First United 
Methodist Church in Ponchatoula. Survivors include his wife, Jean Malcolm 
Sawyer, Ponchatoula; daughters Carla Sawyer Clark, Mobile, Ala., Linda 
Sawyer Poole, Longwood, Fla., and Wanda Sawyer Heroman, Ponchatoula; 
sister Martha Sutton, Macon, Ga.; brother Claude Sawyer, Lafayette, Ind.; 
nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in 
death by parents Ike and Ruby Lee Sawyer and brother Eugene Sawyer. 
Visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m. at Geisler Funeral Home in 
Ponchatoula and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 
Geisler at 1 p.m. The Rev. Robert Deich will conduct the funeral, 
followed by burial in Carter Cemetery, Springfield.

SAWYER, GLADYS HANO
Gladys Hano Sawyer, 90 years old of Ponchatoula, LA, died Saturday, January
5, 2008 at her residence.  Gladys was born on Friday, January 26, 1917 in
Folsom.  Surviving are: 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Janice S.Blow and Rufus
Blow, Sandra L. Vining and Melvin Vining; 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Earl
L. Sawyer and Ann Sawyer, Ernest L. Sawyer and Judy Sawyer; 2 sisters, Edna
H. Stanga and Mary H. Stanga; brother, Preston Hano; 9 grandchildren,
Timothy A. Blow, Keith J. Blow, Kim V. Kern, Randy E. Sawyer, Stacey L.
Sawyer, Darrin G. Vining, Jennifer S. Wilkinson, April S. Sawyer, Karen V.
Thompson; also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death
by ; husband, Otis Crawford Sawyer Sr.; son, Otis Crawford Sawyer Jr.;
great-grandson Randy Earl Sawyer Jr.; father, Marcus Hano; mother, Ida
Bennett Hano; sister, Inez H. Arnold; brothers, Vernon, Claude and Morgan
Hano.  Friends will be received Tuesday, January 8 at the Harry McKneely &
Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00p.m. and on
Wednesday from 8:00a.m. until services. Services will be held in the
funeral home chapel, Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment
will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454.

SAWYER, RANDY EARL, JR. 

An eighth-grade student at Neson Middle School, Tickfaw, he died Friday, 
Aug. 4, 2000, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 14 and a 
native and resident of Tickfaw. Visitation was at Harry McKneely & Son 
Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Visitation at 
the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. 
Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Bucky Laborde. Interment in Little River 
Pentecostal Cemetery, Tickfaw. Survived by his mother Randy Earl Sawyer 
Sr., Bedico; three sisters, Christiana Soto, Tennessee, Chasity Purvis, 
Hammond, and Harley Lane Purvis, Tickfaw; a brother, Willie Wayne Purvis 
Jr., Tickfaw; grandparents, Marylin Quave Hartley, Tickfaw, Homer 
Shelton Jr., Utah, Ted Hartley Sr., Springfield, and Earl and Gwendolyn 
Ann Sawyer, Bedico; and great-grandparents, Eunice Sticker Wright and 
Gladys Sawyer, both of Bedico. Preceded in death by grandmother, Lois 
McKnight; and great-grandparents, Deanie Quave, Mary Ann Shelton, Homer 
Shelton Sr., Everett Sticker and Crawford Sawyer.
