She was 88 and a native of Roseland. Visitation at Amite-Arcola Presbyterian Church, Amite, from 9 a.m. Thursday until religious services at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. John Davis and the Rev. David Smith. Interment in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery, Arcola. Survived by two sons, James A. Oliver Jr., Paola, Kan., and Charles Oliver Sr., Roseland; four daughters, Helen Sharpe, Metairie, Gladys Bernard, Hammond, Beverly Coburn, Roseland, and Enda Leonard, Walker; two sisters, Rita Alford, Mount Hermon, and Rosa Miller, Hillsdale; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her first husband, James A. Oliver Sr.; second husband, Beverly Rouse; parents, Charles G. and Helena Strong Seibert; two sons, Richard Earl Oliver and Ivy Divine Oliver; a daughter, Annie Mae Oliver; a brother, Edwin Seibert; and a sister, Anna Mae Miller. She was born on May 17, 1968, in Evansville, Tennessee and was a native of Clarksville, Tennessee. Rebecca was a graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, a member of the First Baptist Church in Ponchatoula, LA where she taught Sunday school, and an Eastern Star member. She is survived by her husband, William David Rouse, Jr.; 3 daughters, Christina Landry, Jacqulyn and Kelsey Rouse; son, William David Rouse, III; mother, Connie Deere; 2 brothers, Leslie and Andrew Deere; sister, Jennifer Deere; 2 grandchildren, Cayne Landry and Miles Rouse. Her father, David Y. Deere preceded her in death. Friends will be received Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, LA and will continue on Friday after 8:00 am.
