POMARES, IDELL MCMORRIS
A resident of Springfield, she died Friday, June 18, 1999, at Lallie Kemp
Regional Medical Center, Independence. She was 67 and a native of
Livingston Parish. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond,
6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services at
the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by Deacon Wallace
Gainey. Interment in Rose Memorial Cemetery. Survived by husband, Juan
Pomares, Albany; three daughters, Connie Sandefur, Albany, and Margurite
Watkins and Jessica Travis, both of Ponchatoula; five sons, Sal Barba,
Washington, Lester Moore, Bryan, Texas, John Moore, Natalbany, Patrick
Moore, Texas, and Joseph Pomares, Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Marie 
Ramirez, Hammond, and Angelina Rakocy, Ponchatoula; three stepsons, Pete
Pomares, Tickfaw, John Pomares, Norwood, and Jimmy Pomares, Springfield; a
sister, Mary Gollotta, Chicago; two stepbrothers, C.B. McMorris, Albany,
and Charlie Lascasillo, Chicago; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grand-
children. Preceded in death by parents, Christopher and Mary McMorris; a 
stepdaughter, Antoinette Albrado; and a granddaughter.

POMARES, JUAN
Juan Pomares, 85, a resident of Hammond, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at
his home. He was born on March 28, 1924, in Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Pomares
was a World War II veteran who served his country in combat in Italy and
was wounded. Survived by his four sons, Pete Pomares and wife Dee, Johnny
Pomares and wife Camellia, Jimmy Pomares and wife Audrey, and Joseph
Pomares; five daughters, Marie Ramirez and husband Bobby, Angelina "Nina"
Rakocy and husband Rocky, Connie Pomares, and Jessica Pomares; 15
grandsons; 19 granddaughters; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-
grandchildren; stepdaughter, Marquerite Watkins and husband Harry; and
three stepsons, John Moore and wife Debbie, Lester Moore and Michael Moore.
Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Katherine Muscarello Pomares;
daughter, Antoinette Pomares Albrado; second wife, Idell McMorris Pomares;
and granddaughter, Annie Albrado. Friends will be received at Harry
McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Thursday, July 30, from 6 p.m. to
10 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Friday, July 31, from 
9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment in Rose Memorial Park
