George F. Montalbano Sr., born Sept. 17, 1939, and a native of New Orleans, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at his residence in Hammond. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Joanne Wildey Montalbano; daughters, Erin M. Bolton and Holly M. Montalbano, both of Hammond; son, George F. Montalbano II, of Chicago; grandchildren, Reed, Regan and Olivia Bolton; "granddog," Jack; brothers, Joseph, A.J., Calvin and Gerald Montalbano; sister, Loretta Hardy Dagro; and mothers-in-law, Louise L. Wildey, of Hammond, and Mrs. Thomas Wildey Sr., of Lafitte. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph P. and Tilda Marie Montalbano; and three brothers, Chuck and Johnny Cerniglia and Theodore Montalbano. Visitation will be at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, on Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Cayet Mangiaracina at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Tickfaw, at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment in the church cemetery.
