At age 78, she died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Sherwood Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. At her side as she went to be with her Lord and Savior were her sons, David and Lowell, and other family members. A native of Hammond, Marie received her bachelor of arts degree from Anderson University, Anderson, Ind., her master of science degree from Tulane University and pursued her doctoral studies at Indiana University before returning to Anderson University to join the science department faculty, where she taught for about 40 years. Students, faculty, family and friends were touched by her generosity, hospitality, warmth and deep Christian faith. She returned to Louisiana in 1989 with her husband, Gradie LaNoyette, who preceded her in death shortly thereafter. A faithful wife, mother, teacher and friend, she devoted her life to the joy and welfare of others for the glory of God. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon Thursday, Dec. 23, conducted by Pastor Kenny Cutrer.
