"Jack" Lard, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Baton Rouge. He was an Army veteran who served in the 156th Infantry, a retired carpenter with Local #1098 and a retired farmer. He was also a member of the Hurd Merril Masonic Lodge #454 F&AM and a member of Livingston First Baptist Church. He was a native of Holden. Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Hutchinson; sister, Llewellyn Hayden; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Campbell Lard; and two brothers, Murtry "Deke" Lard and Ernest Lard. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, today from 1 p.m. until the funeral at 2:30. The Rev. Alton Foster will conduct the service, and burial will be at Courtney Cemetery in Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane, Baton Rouge 70810 and Hurd Merril Masonic Lodge #454 F&AM, Livingston, to be used for the Masonic Children's Home. ***************************************************************************
