He was born on Saturday, December 13, 1924, in New Orleans, Louisiana, son of the late Herman Kron and the late Eunice Hymel Kron. Surviving are 2 sons, Clarence Kron Jr., Glynn Kron; daughter, Gail Kron DeGrouttola; 5 grandchildren, 1 great- grandaughter, 2 brothers. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Campeaux Kron and his brother Herman Kron Jr. who died while serving with the U.S. Navy Aboard the U.S.S. Indianapolis in 1945. Mr Kron served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Landing on Normandy Beach, he fought through Germans and was injured and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a graduate of L.S.U. Law Enforcement and served with the JPSO. Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Louisiana. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m.at Harry McKneely & Son. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. She was 77. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14. Religious service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Edwin Kron, Ponchatoula; two sons, Clarence Edwin Kron Jr., Kenner, and Glynn Edwin Kron, Ponchatoula; a daughter, Gail Marie Degrouttola, Metairie; sister, Lily Mae Bondi, Metairie; four brothers, Wilson Campeaux, Hammond, Larry Campeaux, Destrehan, Calvin Campeaux, Covington, and Leroy Campeaux, Hammond; five grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
